1. Nature of service
SUNY is a financial data organization and tracking tool for independent workers. It is NOT a tax preparation service, investment advisor, accounting firm, or financial institution, and does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice.
2. No tax advice
Tax estimates, calculations, and displays within SUNY are provided for informational and planning purposes only. They do not constitute professional tax advice and must not be used as the basis for filing a tax return without independent verification by a licensed CPA or tax professional. Estimates are derived solely from data you enter and IRS-published rates. Actual tax liability may vary based on your complete financial situation.
3. Accuracy of user-provided data
SUNY calculations are based solely on the data you enter. SUNY is not responsible for errors, omissions, or financial consequences resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, or incorrectly entered data.
4. Eligibility
SUNY is intended for users 18 years of age or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. SUNY does not knowingly collect data from users under 18.
5. SUNY+ free trial
SUNY+ includes a 14-day free trial for new accounts. No payment method is required for the trial, and you will not be charged automatically. When the trial ends, your account reverts to the free plan unless you choose to subscribe at $7.99/month or $59.88/year (equivalent to $4.99/month).
6. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Paid SUNY+ subscriptions purchased in the mobile app are processed by Apple or Google through your App Store or Google Play account. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until canceled. You may cancel at any time through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, which SUNY links to from Settings → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until that date. No refunds are issued for partial periods; refund requests for store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies.
7. Referral program
SUNY offers two referral reward tracks. Rewards are subject to program terms and may be modified with 30 days notice.
Track A — Activity referrals: Refer 5 friends who each create an attributed SUNY account and log at least 2 qualifying entries. Reward: 1 free month of SUNY+.
Track B — Paid referrals: Refer 5 friends who each become qualifying paid SUNY+ subscribers. Reward: 1 free year of SUNY+.
Attribution, fulfillment timing, qualifying-entry definitions, and subscription-qualification requirements are subject to program terms. SUNY does not guarantee specific fulfillment timelines beyond what is stated in the current program terms at the time of referral.
8. Account deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
SUNY is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
SUNY total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms is limited to the subscription fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. SUNY is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including lost profits or data loss.
11. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you and SUNY consent to the jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
12. Changes to these terms
SUNY may update these Terms with 30 days notice. Continued use of SUNY after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
